A New Era for a Yardley Landmark: Yardley Inn to Be Rebuilt from the Ground Up
Stay tuned for ongoing updates

Big changes are coming to one of Yardley’s most iconic spots. The beloved Yardley Inn, a staple of local dining along the Delaware River, is officially shifting from renovation to full reconstruction.
Originally set for renovation and expansion, the plan was scrapped due to safety concerns during construction. Councilman David Appelbaum noted, “It’s not worth the risk of someone getting hurt.” The decision? Demolish and rebuild—smarter, safer, and more future-ready.
The new design will honor the historic character of the original building while incorporating modern upgrades:
- ADA-compliant and flood-resilient design
- 8,700 sq ft structure with seating for up to 300 guests
- Larger kitchen, upgraded bathrooms, and a second-floor deck with capacity for 35–50 people
- Elevator access for easier mobility between floors
In keeping with Yardley’s charming small-town aesthetic, the owner has committed to materials and architecture that maintain the historic look and feel of the original inn.
This rebuild isn’t just about a better building—it’s about preserving the spirit of Yardley while preparing for the future.
📍 Stay tuned as we follow the transformation of this beloved landmark. A new chapter is being written—right here on the banks of the Delaware.
